Canada sets another new record of inviting 1,082 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates to apply for Canadian immigration. This was the fourth Express Entry draw of the year held on February 16.
Only PNP candidates were invited in this draw by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). To receive the invitation, candidates needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 710. Provincial Nominee Program candidates those who receive the nominations get an automatic addition of 600 points to their overall score. This is the reason why CRS score for PNP specific draw is usually high.
This is the third consecutive draw that has broken a record for the maximum number of invitations. In the previous draw conducted two weeks before, around 1,070 PNP candidates were issued invitations to apply for Canadian immigration.
Candidates those who are issued invitations need to apply within duration of 60 days for Canadian permanent residence.
Express Entry levels 2022-2024
Based on the Immigration Levels Plan 2022-2024 released on February 14, approximately 55,900 newcomers are planned to be welcomed by Canada this year. All these will arrive via Express Entry managed immigration programs.
Apart from these, Canada plans to welcome 83,500 PNP candidates not necessarily coming through Express Entry.
In 2024, the county has a target of welcoming 111,500 candidates via Express Entry pathways.
