Keeping all the health and safety measures in mind, Canada maintain complete COVID-19 testing and vaccine requirements. With the situations coming under a little control, Canada has also done some changes in its immigration policies as well as in the border measures.
Some of the updates include:
Individuals those who are fully vaccinated and depart and re-enter Canada within 72 hours of departing, will not be required to present a pre-entry molecular test. To enjoy this exemption, candidates need to be fully vaccinated Canadian citizens, permanent residents or individuals registered under the Indian Act. All such individuals need to show a proof of their departing and re-entering the country.
From now onwards, individuals vaccinated with vaccines such as Sinovac, Sinopharm and COVAXIN will also be allowed to enter the country.
All the changes will be followed from November 30, 2021.
Apart from these changes, some more are also seen coming up in action from January 15, 2022. Some groups of travellers, who were earlier exempted from the list of entering Canada, will also be allowed to enter now. These include:
- International students those who are 18 years old or above
- Those travelling with the purpose of reuniting with their families
- Both professional and amateur athletes
- Temporary foreign workers and others having a valid work permit
- Individuals in the essential services, including truck drivers
- Also, partially vaccinated and unvaccinated foreign nationals falling under the limited exceptions will be allowed to enter the country. Some of them are marine crew members, agricultural and food processing workers, resettling refugees, new permanent residents etc.
Further these updates are subject to alterations as and when required depending on the COVID-19 situations.
