With pandemic situation coming under control, Canada has planned to provide ease in the border restrictions to the fully vaccinated travelers starting February 28. The government has announced that fully vaccinated travelers can enter Canada without the need of getting tested for COVID -19. There is also no need for such travelers to be in quarantine for 14 days. However, the officials present at the airport can randomly choose any traveler to get tested.
There is also no requirement for children below the age of 12 years to self-isolate if they are accompanying their fully vaccinated parents. On the other hand, the travelers those who are not vaccinated will be required to get tested once they arrive here. They have to undergo another COVID -19 tests on the eighth day of arriving to Canada. They also need to be quarantined for 14 days.
As far as the pre-entry requirements are concerned, travelers have two options:
They can show a COVID-19 rapid antigen test result that has been done a day before their scheduled flight or arrival at the land or marine port.
Or
Travelers can undergo a molecular test and show the negative report. The test has to be done within 72 hours of their scheduled flight or arrival at land or marine port.
Unvaccinated travelers will not be allowed to come to Canada. Only those who fall under any of the exemption will be allowed to enter.
Currently, international flights can land only on 18 Canadian airports due to the public health measures in place. But with these latest updates in the border measures, starting February 28 all the airports in the country will have the permission to receive international flights. Now, the Canadians are also allowed to travel outside the country even for non-essential reasons.
