Manitoba province has issued invitations to 273 immigration candidates. The invited candidates can apply for provincial nomination. So far this year 1,031 invitations have been issued for provincial nomination. Details of the latest draw held were declared on February 10.
In this Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), candidates were invited via three provincial nominee programs namely Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education Stream. All the invited candidates needed to have a profile in the Expression of Interest system.
202 invitations were issued for Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates. At least a score of 615 was required to receive an invitation.
31 invitations were issued to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates. At least a score of 705 was needed for the invitation.
40 invitations were issued to International Education Stream candidates. There was no score requirement for this.
Out of all the invitations, 68 of them were issued to the candidates having profiles in the Express Entry system.
Express Entry
It is especially meant for three Federal High Skilled programs namely; Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Federal Skilled Worker Program.
In the Express Entry system, the profiles of the candidates are judged and ranked on the basis of a point-based system. It is termed as the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The scores are allotted on the parameters such as education, skilled work experience, age, official language proficiency among many others. Candidates with highest scores are invited from the pool to apply for a nomination seeking permanent residence in Canada. 600 points automatically get added to the CRS score of the candidates upon receiving nominations.
