In the draw held on February 17, Prince Edward Island issued invitations to 123 candidates for Canadian immigration. This was the second draw of the province in which skilled workers and entrepreneurs were invited. Candidates were issued invitations through the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) streams namely Express Entry, Labour Impact and Business Impact.
117 invitations were issued to candidates from Express Entry and Labour Impact streams. On the other hand, 6 invitations were issued to Business Impact stream and these candidates needed at least a score of 67 points.
In 2018, Prince Edward Island launched its Expression of Interest system and since then has conducted draws on monthly basis. However, some disruptions were caused in the conduction of draws due to the pandemic.
1,933 invitations were issued in 2021 through PEI PNP. Out of the total, 1,764 were issued to the Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates and the rest 196 were issued to Business Impact candidates. All the invitations via Express Entry are issued to candidates who already have their profiles in the Federal Express Entry pool for provincial nomination. These provincial nomination candidates automatically get an addition of 600 points to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This guarantees the chances of these candidates to receive Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian immigration. Candidates with and without a job offer both can obtain Canadian permanent residence through PEI Express Entry stream pathways.
