Not every job offer will make you eligible for getting additional CRS points. For obtaining 50 points, a candidate needs to have a valid job from a Canadian employer in any skilled occupation. For getting an addition of 200 points to the overall score, a candidate needs to have a Canadian job offer under six occupations. Moreover, one of these six occupations is only meant for Canadian citizens.
What is meant by a valid job offer?
A job offer is considered valid by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canadian (IRCC) when it is full-time and paid on a continuous basis. For getting a permanent residency status, the job offer should be ongoing for at least one year. Having a job offer on part-time basis or seasonal work is not considered a valid job offer. Also, for a job offer to be considered valid, it has to be in categories 00, 0, A, or B under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
The immigration authorities must be convinced that a candidate actually has a valid job offer. If everything goes well, the candidate becomes eligible for getting licensed or certified by a Canadian regulatory body.
