The next step is to gather all the necessary documents. The documents required are: the original printout of your online physical presence calculation or form CIT 0407, photocopies of biographical pages of all valid and expired passports or travel documents you had in the past five years, photocopies of two (2) pieces of personal identification, photocopies of your proof of English or French language ability for any applicants between ages 18-54 years old, the Canadian Language Benchmarks is (CLB) Level 4 or higher, two (2) identical citizenship photos, Check citizenship photo specification.
The next step will be to get your application package, complete the application forms, pay your fees, and submit your forms. You will need to create an account online, fill out the necessary forms through the online account you created. Scan and upload all your supporting documents. Pay your application fees and submit your completed application. Before you submit your application, make sure you sign and date it. The standard processing time for citizenship application is 12 months. This includes processing of the application, the citizenship test, interview, and oath-taking ceremony.
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced an online citizenship test in November of 2020. This is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by limiting crowds. The online citizenship test will allow applicants to complete the test at their convenience within 21 days.
