Quebec has issued 236 invites in new Arrima draw

The Immigration Ministry of Quebec has released the results of the immigration draw held on December 9th. Quebec has invited the 326 worker on December 9 to apply for permanent position. These immigrants were invited to apply for Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) by the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI). Candidates who were invited should have their profiles in the Arrima pool with the minimum scores of 633.

The invitations has targeted the candidates who have valid job offer outside the Montreal Metropolitan Area and work in those occupations that are in high demand in Quebec.

The government has provided the following list of 29 targeted occupations:

  • NOC 0213 Computer and information systems managers
  • NOC 2131 Civil engineers
  • NOC 2132 Mechanical engineers
  • NOC 2133 Electrical and electronics engineers
  • NOC 2141 Industrial and manufacturing engineers
  • NOC 2143 Mining engineers
  • NOC 2147 Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers)
  • NOC 2171 Information systems analysts and consultants
  • NOC 2172 Database analysts and data administrators
  • NOC 2173 Software engineers and designers
  • NOC 2174 Computer programmers and interactive media developers
  • NOC 2175 Web designers and developers
  • NOC 2231 Civil engineering technologists and technicians
  • NOC 2232 Mechanical engineering technologists and technicians
  • NOC 2233 Industrial engineering and manufacturing technologists and technicians
  • NOC 2241 Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians
  • NOC 2281 Computer network technicians
  • NOC 2282 User support technicians
  • NOC 2283 Information systems testing technicians
  • NOC 3012 Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
  • NOC 3233 Licensed practical nurses
  • NOC 3413 Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
  • NOC 4031 Secondary school teachers
  • NOC 4032 Elementary school and kindergarten teachers
  • NOC 4214 Early childhood educators and assistants
  • NOC 5131 Producers, directors, choreographers and related occupations
  • NOC 5223 Graphic arts technicians
  • NOC 5241 Graphic designers and illustrators
  • NOC 6221 Technical sales specialists – wholesale trade

This is Quebec’s thirteenth draw of the year. Through Arrima, a total of 3,564 individuals will be asked to apply for permanent selection by the province in 2021. Quebec held a single draw in January, followed by monthly draws from March to June. No draw held in July but three in August, two in September, and the province has gone back to monthly draws since then.

About Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program

The Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program is aimed at skilled workers who are more likely to start themselves in the province economically. The program is known among the qualified professionals and overseas graduates who want to work in Quebec permanently.

Candidates who have been asked to apply for permanent selection have 60 days to complete their applications and pay processing fees. Quebec is targeting to complete the application process in six months beginning with the receipt of all essential paperwork. This covers all paperwork and forms.

The successful candidates will receive a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ or Quebec Selection Certificate). They can then use this certificate to apply to the Canadian federal government for permanent residence.

Applicants who want to settle in Quebec are assessed under different approach than who want to desire in settle elsewhere in Canada. Quebec’s immigration programs are handled by province and separate from those run by the federal government of Canada.
