In the latest PNP draw conducted by the Alberta province of Canada, 293 immigration candidates were sent invitations for provincial nomination. This Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) draw was held on October 12. These candidates needed to have a profile in the Express Entry Stream and a minimum CRS score of 300.
Although, this is the first draw held in the month of October but four draws have already been held in the month of September by this Canadian province. In all these draws, invitations were sent to 1,610 candidates with a CRS score of at least 300.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
Alberta Express Entry stream is a provincial nominee program that allows searching the Express Entry candidates with profiles meeting the eligibility criteria for provincial nomination. Express Entry is the biggest pathway for candidates to immigrate to Canada. It constitutes of three economic immigration programs namely; Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program. Profiles in the Express Entry pool are evaluated and given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This evaluation is done on various parameters such as education, age, work experience, and language proficiency in English or French.
Express Entry draws are held on a regular basis and highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence. On the other hand, people having low scores can apply in the provincial nominee program. Candidates receiving invitations for provincial nomination get an addition of 600 points to their overall score. This thereby increases their chances of getting permanent residence.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
To be eligible for the Alberta Express Entry Stream, candidates need to have experience in certain occupations such as transport truck drivers, food service supervisors, cooks among various others. List of occupations that do not fall under the Alberta Express Entry Stream are already cleared by the province.
