With the pandemic situation coming under control, Canada has done major alterations to its travel measures. According to their press release, these changes are mentioned below:
- Travelers from India or Morocco wouldn’t need to undergo the modified pre-departure test from January 28, 2022. It will be applicable for travelers coming to Canada on direct as well as indirect flights.
- There will be no longer the need of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test from a third country for the travelers coming from India and Morocco. Regardless of the departure country, all the travelers will need to undergo the similar pre-entry test requirements.
- Starting January 31, 2022 residents and essential workers of British Columbia will no longer be exempted from the pre-entry, arrival and Day -8 testing and quarantine requirements. These travelers include those travelling by land to or through the United States for essential food and supplies.
For India
A pre-departure negative molecular test report obtained within 18 hours of departure from an Indian airport is no longer required from January 27. But a molecular test report obtained within 72 hours of departure is still mandatory.
For Morocco
From January 27, the need of a pre-departure negative molecular test along with a test certificate issued by the Moroccan government is also eliminated from the Canadian travel measures.
These relaxations have been provided to the travelers from India and Morocco by the Public Health Agency of Canada as the positivity rate is quite less among these travelers.
