In New Brunswick’s labour market is strengthening up again. Like, Canada is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic with the new increasing opening of full-time jobs from October to November which has decreased the unemployment rate. This is a reason many jobs are available that can make great chances for foreign people who are seeking to get permanent residence in Canada through economic immigration programs. All these programs mainly account for the majority of new permanent residents to New Brunswick.

After a slowdown in 2020, immigration is picking up this year

Due to COVID-19 in Canada which is still circulating in the country, there are many immigrants arriving in New Brunswick. The province has welcomed 10.2 percent of new permanent residents in the first nine months of this year which is comparatively more than the entire year of 2020. Currently, this year the New Brunswick could welcome 4253 new permanent residents if immigrants will continue at the same pace.

According to New Brunswick’s Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP), the province will identify competent individuals who meet particular economic and labor market requirements.

Candidates can qualify for it via one of these five categories:

  • Stream for New Brunswick Express Entry;
  • Stream for Skilled Workers in New Brunswick;
  • Truck Drivers in New Brunswick’s Skilled Worker Stream;
  • Entrepreneurial stream in New Brunswick
  • Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream in New Brunswick

The New Brunswick Express Entry Stream only focuses on those candidates who have profiles in the Federal Express entry with the skills, education, and experience to support the provincial economy.

Candidates who have profiles in the Express Entry pool are assessed and scored on the basis of the following factors:-

  • age
  • education
  • language skills
  • work experience
  • job offer
  • adaptability

The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream is eligible for only those candidates who are aged 19 to 55 and have been offered permanent, full-time work by a New Brunswick company and intend to stay in the province.

It’s for those aged between 22 and 55 with an eligible connection to New Brunswick and a minimum two-year, post-secondary education degree or diploma who score at least level 5 on the Canadian Language Benchmark exam for speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English or French.

Foreign nationals need to start their business to get permanent residency 

This is applicable for the candidates who are aged 22 to 55 with connection to New Brunswick and have at least 2 years of post-secondary education degree or diploma with the score of minimum level 5 on the Canadian Language Benchmark exam in French or English (speaking, writing, reading and listening).

 Atlantic immigration pilot offer for workers 

This program focuses on skilled workers with job experience of at least one year in management, professional, or technical/skilled jobs. Candidates who have an offer for a permanent job for a high school education or job-specific training can apply for it under the Atlantic intermediate skilled program.

The Atlantic international graduate program targets those candidates who have degrees, diplomas or other studies from any other publicly funded institution in Atlantic province. They should have a job offer which should be at least one year but without work experience.
