464 immigration candidates invited under the British Council PNP draw

On September 14, new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws have been held by the British Columbia province. 464 invitations have been issued to the international graduates and skilled workers.  These immigration candidates can apply under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC (EEBC) categories. The cut-off scores are different for both the categories and their subcategories. Under Express Entry; scores required for Skilled Worker is 86 and International Graduate candidates is 75. On the other hand under Skills Immigration; scores required for Skilled Worker is 90, International Graduate is 77 and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled is 69.

Apart from meeting the cut-off scores, candidates must have submitted their profiles under the Express Entry pool. The invited candidates would also get an additional 600 Comprehensive Raking System (CRS) points from the province. This would further help them to apply for permanent residency under the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada’s Express Entry program.

Till now in 2021, more than 8,500 invitations have already been issued under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of the British Council. The candidates that are sent invitations can apply for provincial nominations.

Know about the Skills Immigration category:

It acts as a pathway for foreign workers to gain permanent residence in the British Council province. The candidates who have a job offer in the province and meet the requirements can apply for permanent residence here. Skills Immigration constitutes of five sub-categories. These are listed below:  

Skilled Worker Category – Candidates those who already have a job offer in any of the skilled occupation along with many years of work experience can apply under this category.

International Graduate Category – Candidates holding a graduate degree from a Canadian university or college in the last three years can apply under this category.

International Post-Graduate Category – Candidates having a master’s or Ph.D. degree from the eligible post-secondaries of the province in the natural, applied or health sciences are eligible for this category. There is no such requirement for them to already have a job offer in hand.

Healthcare Professional Category – Healthcare professionals such as nurses, physicians, psychiatric nurses and other allied health professionals can apply for nominations under this category. They need to meet the eligibility criteria in one of the 11 occupations falling in this category.    

Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Category – Under this category, entry-level or skilled workers who have jobs in industries such as food processing, hospitality, tourism, long-haul trucking can apply.

To apply for the nominations, candidates need to have created their profiles in British Council’s PNP portal and register in its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). The applications would be scored on the parameters like education, proficiency in English language, work experience and location on employment.
