Canada announced its another Express Entry draws for 635 PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) candidates to apply for permanent residency (PR). On September 1, Immigration Refugee and Citizen Canada (IRCC) held its latest draw and minimum score cutoff was 764. All provincial nomination candidates had worth 600 points in the Express Entry system. The invited candidates have 60 days to apply for permanent residency.
Express entry invitations just double from last year
IRCC has doubled the number of invitations to apply every year. The more invitations bring more chances to meet the target of 108, 5000 newcomers through Express Entry System in the year 2021. The requirement for minimum score is fluctuating up and down due to the nature of PNP and CEC draws only. CEC draw have low cutoffs as they are concentrated in one specific group of applicants and do not compete with others coming from Federal Skilled Worker Program. PNP candidates will get 600 points automatically in their provincial nominate, as a result the cutoff is higher than other draw of Express Entry.
About Express Entry
Canada is well-known for offering various immigration programs that use the Express Entry system for managing applications. It contains three categories that include Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program and Federal Skilled Trades Program. In the Express Entry pool, PNP candidates are already qualified for one of these programs. They are allowed to apply for nomination through province and get it which will increase their score by 600 points. Express Entry follows the comprehensive ranking system to rank the candidate’s profile. Candidates who have high scores will receive an Invitation to apply for permanent residency.
After that IRCC officer will review the candidate’s application to make a decision. They can ask them for biometrics and may conduct an interview or ask for more documents. If your application gets approved then IRCC will issue a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). After this, approved permanent residence can complete the landing process. In case they are not in Canada they can use pre-arrival services which will help them to settle in Canada.
