On 7 July, Canada conducted a new draw and invited 627 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence. This new invitation is eligible for only those candidates who had nomination from Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). For this, candidates are required the minimum score of at least 760. The CRS cutoff is high for this draw because PNP candidates get 600 points automatically added in their score. It means, without this awarding points, candidate needs the lowest scoring of 160 points only.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizen Canada (IRCC) also issued a cutoff time for the tie-break rule. The invitation will be sent to those Candidates who had met the minimum score requirements and submitted their Express Entry Profile before June 14, 2021 at 07:44:05 UTC.
High number of PNP candidates in the recent draw
During this COVID-19 time, IRCC has held the specific draws of PNP-and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). It happened because mostly these candidates are already living in Canada and likely to be less disrupted by public health measures such as travel restrictions. IRCC has invited the highest number of candidates in its recent PNP specific draw on 23 June 2021. This is first time when they have invited more than 1000 PNP candidates. Previously, immigration had invited 940 candidates.
It could be the part of the strategy to issue such high draw sizes for meeting Canada’s immigration targets for 2021. The Federal government has already announced to invite 401,000 new immigrants to Canada this year. The country has invited 89,342 Express Entry candidates this year for permanent residence. IRCC is also holding regular invitations to apply for permanent residence to the highest-scoring candidates.
Once you submit your profile, IRCC immigration office will check it and make decision for your application. If it gets approved then you need to complete your landing process and you can officially immigrate to Canada.
