Ontario held a new PNP draw on September 21 and issued invitations to 995 international students and temporary foreign workers. These candidates already had profiles in Ontario’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system.
406 candidates with at least a score of 37 will be considered eligible for the Foreign Worker Stream. This PNP draw was a general one so other specification such as location requirements and targeted occupations etc. weren’t focused on. Through International Student Stream draw, 523 candidates were sent invitations to apply for the provincial nomination. Such candidates required a score of at least 61 to be invited. Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) also issued invitations to 66 immigration candidates registered for the Regional Immigration Pilot. Out of these 66 invitations, 36 were issued to foreign workers while 30 to international students and these invited candidates need to qualify for one of the two Employer Job offer streams.
Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream
This stream is for foreign nationals those who have a valid job offer from an employer in the Ontario province. They also need to have two years of work experience in a skilled occupation and must be willing to immigrate to the province. Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements can apply from even outside Canada. Also, they need to register in the EOI pool on the Ontario website. Further these applications would be evaluated on the basis of various factors.
Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream
This stream is for the international students who have got a job offer from the Ontario’s employer and it is not necessary for candidates to apply from within Canada if they meet requirements. To apply under this stream, candidates must have done a program at any of the Designated Learning Institution in Canada and must be willing to immigrate to Ontario. The eligible candidates also need to have an EOI profile on the Ontario website and these would be evaluated and scored on various human capital factors.
